Former President Donald Trump on Friday teased the possibility of suing the CBS show “60 Minutes” after it allegedly edited an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
The network has been embroiled in controversy this week after the vice president’s answer that was shown in a clip promoting the interview, differed from the answer in the full interview that aired. Republicans have claimed the interview was manipulated to make Harris appear better.
Trump echoed his call for CBS News to lose their license over the debacle, and claimed “60 Minutes” should be cancelled.
“So I think I’m going to sue them actually. I think so. No, you know what, they can’t defend it and if they do and even if they win it’s going to be very embarrassing,” Trump told podcast host Dan Bongino. “It’s a very embarrassing moment for them, but the media is not pressing it.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson has also accused the network of “selectively editing” his interview on one of its Sunday shows, claiming they took out five “important” minutes of his 15 minute interview, claiming it was done so to undermine Republicans. […]
